Yeah, I know, I think I have most of the various generations of canon flashes going back to the 300tl for my (OUT OF MY COLD DEAD HANDS!!!) T90. I was answering the direct question in the post above mine.
Ok, I got it.

It has been a couple weeks and I have not seen any change in the status of the shipment. It appears that it is still waiting to get picked up. I shot some stuff at a halloween party where there was a haunted house where tours were given to scare the bajeebees out of the patrons and my roll was to capture it. Very difficult to get focus in pitch black and then freeze the terror with a flash. That focus assist would have been really nice. ![]() Today is the 40th day counted from the order. Same case as yours: nothing is changed about the tracking number from the beginnigs (it says the item is in Sanghai). I wrote to Grace (photogadget) asked for a new tracking number for the new (resent) package. I hope I'll get it soon or I'll have to claim on PayPal on Thursday...

I've never had an order from ThePhotoGadget take longer than 16 days total (no messing about with which are working days, which ones don't count, which are holidays - 16 days total maximum) to the UK.
Tracking: It takes a couple of days for the tracking number to appear on either 17track.net or the China Post site. Generally a day from acknowledgement of receipt there through to the "Acceptance Office" message. From time to time I get an intermediate message which doesn't make sense (something about "straight hair" which is nonsensical to a bald man awaiting a flash unit or trigger set ![]() However, as ThePhotoGadget, and many other companies too, make abundantly clear - once that parcel hits the postal system they have no control whatsoever. Different countries have different arrangements - eg Ireland has no delivery on Saturdays, in the UK we have one floating day per week when we usually don't get a delivery, Grace has told me that she can't send ebay orders to Finland but orders through her own site are no problem. YMMV, as they say. 40 days seems a very long time indeed though, irrespective of heightened security measures no matter where they may be. Patient though I am (usually), even I would be getting more than a bit frustrated by now. Phil ǁ Kershaw Soho Reflex: 4¼" Ross Xpres, 6½" Aldis, Super XX/ABC Pyro in 24 DDS, HP3/Meritol Metol in RFH, Johnson 'Scales' brand flash powder. Kodak Duo Six-20/Verichrome Pan. Other odd bits over the decades, simply to get the job done - not merely to polish and brag about cos I'm too mean to buy the polish!

I am beginning to wonder if one of the Amazon state side vendors would have been a better choice for the extra $12. I am still hopeful based on the high rating from the people on this forum.

If you put the tracking number into your local postal service tracking system (in this case USPS) you will see if the shipment is "in country" and what its current status is. If there is no tracking status in the local tracking system it is not yet in the destination country. Ian

KML7of7 Mostly Lurking 14 posts Joined Jan 2011 More info | The status remains the same as it was when there was any information at all. That is from the usps site. I have ordered other stuff that had no activity in the tracking site but then the stuff just shows up it is due one day and shows up a couple days early. For what it is worth when I did email photogadget they replied within hours.

My shipping still says the "Origin preparing shipment" thing, but it's reassuring to see that others here received their order while that status was still showing. I'll post up as soon as I get them. I had the low battery stroboscopic flash of death this morning! The low battery warning LED's were blinking fast at the same time, but its a bit too late by then. That could be something to be careful of if you use a flash without thermal cut off (and you can't get to it quickly to switch off). I have already warned the few pages above WWW.YN622.RU

Its not perfect but for around $60 shipped its hard to complain considering what it can do - http://flashhavoc.com …-slave-flash-for-yn-622c/ ![]() ![]() ![]() I don't have a lot of experience with the cheaper YN flashes so if I've got anything wrong, or you know of any compatibility issues please let me know. Otherwise there is a YN560EX slave flash for use with the Canon optic wirelss system, but nothing similar for the YN-622C. Whats needed is ideally a YN-560-SLV, an updated version of the manual YN-560 but with added ETTL and Remote Manual compatibility when used as a Slave with the YN-622C receiver. Preferably - Full power, Battery Port, Zoom Head, in about that order of priority, under the $100 mark. ![]() ![]() I don't mind the black screen but if you wanted the LCD look I think they could make a nice grey panel to look just like an LCD but actually using the YN-560 LED lights instead - ![]() ![]() If you would like to see a basic (but full power) sub $100 YN-622C slave flash like this, could you please leave a comment on the blog here and I will forward this to YongNuo to see what they can do - http://flashhavoc.com/budget-slave-f...22_Slave_Flash ![]() .

As I understand it (I'm a noob to flash in almost all regards, but I think I understand this system), it's two way communication, so everything has to work both ways. Yep two way communication is right, but the 622C triggers are doing the work there.

Anyone know anything about Yongnuo such as where their manufacturing plant is located and how big the company is? I placed an order on Oct 3rd, and they are sitting at the post office as of Oct 27th. Was about the same amount of time for the first pair as well. I'm in KS. Ordered from PhotoGadget. Godox/Flashpoint r2 system, plus some canon stuff.
