I'm at a loss. I dont know which lens to go with, this Tamron 17-50 or Sigma's 18-50.

I feel the same way.

Me too.

Nice rebate now on the Tamron. 6 year warranty, too. Just sayin'. My new one is very sharp even wide open.

Tamron cheaper.... and after reading some revied, Sigma have had a few AF issues.

There seems to be more Tamron out there than Sigma when you look into reviews on photos from these lens'.

Used my Tamron at a TFCD evening the other night....

I'm pleased with my results, never done a TFCD event before, never photo'd in a studio.. and never used studio lighting. I'll go again as I felt I learnt a lot and could learn more.

Wanted to do some kinda sharpness test. Compare f2.8 vs f8. I'm happy with the results.

Lauri, that must have taken a good bit of time to set up. Well done. Love the effect.

I would love to see you do the same test on a full body portrait as i find this lens to get rather soft when the subject is further from the lens. Dont get close up and use 17mm, but stand far back and use closer to 50mm and make sure the person is photographed from head to toe. Would love to see how the crops look after that.
