Not a mind blowing deal but better than retail. Refurbished Canon 24-105mm f/4 L lens with 12 months warranty bought for £559 direct from Canon on eBay. I also received about £10 of nectar points (reward points which can be used at a national chain supermarket) and £7 Quidco Cashback. Currently the same lens is selling for £700 retail so with the Canon winter rebate of £80 the same lens new would cost £620.

The lens took a couple of days to arrive and is in brand new condition as is the box so very happy :)

Hope your final price goes way up as you probably could spend $300 to bring it back to life an Canon repair center then you could sell it at full price, probably what your buyer is intending to do.

Thanks actually it closed at $365. Gonna use it to offset offset the cost for a CLP 7D. As the 60D I got an estimate of over $1K to repair. Crazy isn't it?

That is terrible!
Is the quotted price through Canon itself (Irvin Center in Cali) or an independent repair place?

canon won't service a 28-70L though...which is why they get a decent price on ebay for parts...people looking to fix their broken lens...

sell the 60D for parts as well...you'll get way more than $60 for it...

My great deal was today. A near new 24-70mm MK II with a B&W mrc nano xs-pro filter for $1000. Trying to decide whether to keep or trade for something else.

Wow where did you get that at? I bought a 10 month old 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II for $950, guy bought it new, rarely used it, looked up value online but apparently looked at non IS version and listed it for $950, I was the first to call and check it out, noticed it was a II, told him it's worth more he said oh well, I was trying to figure out if it was stolen, he gives me original receipt with last 4 digits of his CC from a local Canon dealer, so I buy it, I stop by the store ask if they can tell me the last name of the person that bought that lens and it matches so definitely not stolen .... I ended up selling it to a friend for $1500 a couple of days later, had never mounted it on my cameras. Then I just got another a few weeks ago as part of a package, I'm trying to sell it but I've been using it and I absolutely love it .... I should have kept that first one lol

This was from an independent shop.

Was that from the Boston Craigslist by any chance?

My best deal was a 55-250 for $150 at a Target sale last year.

However, my best deal now is a 40mm/2.8 currently on sale at many stores - I ordered mine yesterday at J&R with free shipping. It will replace my 50mm which has freaky AF.

Tamron 10-24mm, $300 shipped. (The guy was originally selling it for $350 + shipping)

Got it 3 days after it shipped (4 days after payment), opened it up, and it was better than expected. When the guy I bought it from told me it was lightly used he wasn't kidding...not a scratch, not a ding, not a dent...beautiful lens!

Picked up a 70-200 f2.8 I for $260. It had been dropped so the AF was wonky beyond 135mm. It's getting repaired at Canon right now. I was amazed at how sharp it was at 100mm. Can't wait to get it back :).

That's probably the best deal I've seen, yet.
