That 1,000 mile race at Road Atlanta | ALMS | Petit Le Mans 2012

This was my 4th year credentialed for Petit Le Mans. It is a 'coming home' for me as it was the first event I shot with credentials a few years ago. Given that Road Atlanta is my home track I wanted to do a couple different things than normal. There are some 'must haves' from Petit based on lighting but there is room to experiment a bit.

Good friends of course is a highlight of an ALMS race for me. Since I normally shoot Grand-Am doing an ALMS race puts me with some of the best in the business and I enjoy the chance to shoot with them and take some direction. This year worked out well is some further opportunities came directly from Petit. Always a good thing there!

#6 is too tight to the left for me. At first glance I thought car was cut by the frame but a closer look shows it isn't.

Definitely tight. I wanted that though. Most of the shots of Turn 3 feature the same look. Since it was foggy/overcast that morning I wanted something to look a little different.

True, most shots are wide enough to see the spectator area at the end of the esses. I'd still like to see gap between the car and the edge on the left be the same as the gap in the lower left corner.

Extreme set here! #1 is calendar cover material but it looks like the roof is sharper than the front.

Great set of shots! #1 is my favorite - that's a shot I'd hang on the wall.

I think these are some of the better images I've seen shared here from this event. Especially the lower lighted ones. Excellent stuff!
