It's all in the display. The new iPads ave no equal in this regard. If the tablet cannot display the photo with realistic colours and resolutions, what is the point.

The Nexus 10 seems to be a good contender, and specs-wise better for the price too. Let's see when it actually comes out.

I find the colour accuracy and vibrancy on the iPad to be outstanding ...better than the majority of monitors and much better than the run of the mill laptop.

Yea, the ipad has a very nice screen, better than any other tablet. When I compare my Infinity screen to my wife's ipad you can see a clear winner.......Too bad it has a crippled OS.

Nope

The screen resolution of the Nexus 10 is 2560 x 1600 for the 10.06-inch screen (diagonally) which comes to 300 pixels per inch beating both the iPad 3 and 4.

The iPad 4 has a screen resolution of 2048×1536 pixel screen resolution at 264 pixels per inch for a 9.7 inch screen (diagonally).

I used to have an Asus Android tablet a while ago when the market started booming, and then sold it a few months later and got an iPad. No regrets, more apps, and it always works. I had finicky problems with android, and while sure it can be fun to have the amount of customization, it's really not needed if you just want to get down and work.

Nope

The Nexus 10 has yet to be tested so I left it out. Its also not available yet. Unless you can link to some published tests? I would be especially interested in color gamut and accuracy, not just pixels per inch.

I personally think the Nexus 10 screen will smoke the ipad but its yet to be proven. Its probably made by the same manufacturer-Samsung

Isn't Retina display just your standard IPS LCD screen?
iSight is just a camera.

Here's my 2 cents.

Or someone who buys the best device to show off thier portfolio....IPAD. Yeh, if you want the freedom to screw around with or be adventurous to play around with...then others fit the bill...but if you want the best display device to show off your portfolio...then today go with the Ipad.

I'm very happy with my Asus transformer. No silly proprietary stuff, works perfectly without tweaking, great screen, and great keyboard dock for when you need it.

If I was buying now though, I'd definitely wait a bit and go with the nexus 10.

I would be very curious to see what phone do the OP have?

if it's android, then an android tablet would be easy to handle.
Same for iPhone and iPad.

OTOH, I think one of the newer ultrabooks that has a reflexible screen (like the Lenovo Thinkpad Twist and the Lenovo Yoga) is actually a better device--specifically, for the larger screen, but also because more flexible display applications.

Low resolution screens. Keyboard navigation. Heavy to pack around.

No Go for me. Ipad-3 still better for portfolio presentation. Just pass the client the ipad and it does the rest.
