(no white border on them)

I can't read your contact info through your photo.

I like it, but I agree that the contact info dominates the rest... to the detriment of the rest. Plus, I'd add dashes in the phone number. Maybe it's just me, but I find a long string of numbers annoying.

I was going to say the same thing. White text on areas of whit-ish background do not work.

I don't think you can legally run a business using a facebook "fan" page. And are you a "graphics consultant" or do you do "graphics" and are also a "consultant"? A rather confusing design with too much information.

I find it odd that your business name and website are completely different names. :|

there is a law that states you have to use a website and not a fan page on facebook? I thought you cuold use what ever media presense you wanted. :) and I dont see anything about facebook on the card, so im not sure where the question came from? :)

essencephotography was taken, but what about essencephotographyinmaine.com or what have you? theres lots of ways to personalize it.

hey guys, so far this is what i have in mind. i am thinking about changing up some stuff though, like moving the facebook link to the back of the card. what do you guys think?

I like it, but I find the people distracting, I would prefer a portrait of the car taken in a more controlled environment for use on the card, perhaps solid black background or something. and instead of a link to facebook perhaps a website address. if you dont have a website you can get one and have it point to the facebook page when someone types it in.

It was a learning experience. I never dealt with vista print and thought it was a good deal. The edges are not like that on all the cards but probably half. I guess its not that bad to start off with. I will be looking for other places. Probably staples or something like that. I wouldn't go throuh vistaprint again though.

Right now, the cards are the least of my concerns, I need to go out there and spend more time wth the camera and play around more with it. I travel a good amount and places I go too are not even worth shootig pics.

Try gotprint.com. Its like $35 for 1000 cards shipped at normal delivery, takes a week and a half or 2 weeks to come in. I dont agree that you need laminate, etc, just as long as the cards look great. but speaking on that, I dont think a card with a picture of a camera will impress a potential customer. Why not put your best picture on the card?

I have business cards with a cute baby on it, another card with a senior portrait on it, another with some cute dogs, etc. This way the pics are large enough for people to admire them and it shows what I am capable of.

for my next project, im thinking of doing something different. instead of a 2x3.5 inch card, of doing a trifold card that is more pocket size. This way I can show off 3 or more of my best shots at a good size and provide more info. :)

Matt, whats the name of the thing under "photography"? I've always wondered. And where is a good place to get designs like that?

I am working on a new logo and I want to add something like that. Ive seen them around but its not something I can create. Im more of a photographer than a graphic designer. :D

I'm not exactly sure which post you are referring to, must have been a while ago as I can't see it. If you want people to find you on facebook you should have a unified name.

I like it, based on the target audience. However, this would be best done actually handwritten using a tablet or scanned handwriting (then finnessed in photoshop). Having each occurence of the same letter being the same is off putting.

@weeatmice thank you. I'm actually starting from scratch, I'm experiencing analysis paralysis. =)
