Shot a few minutes after sunset during the Fall Equinox.

3 exposures blended together using multiple exposure blending techniques, luminosity selections and other advanced masking to extend the dynamic range. I created a Photoshop Tutorial Video (external link) to demonstrate the process

Everyone's selling a video these days on this, I think that's the 3rd one I've come across recently.

It's an interesting shot, but not doing much for me. Looks too fake.

Thank you for your comments and your sincere opinion. My intention is not to make hyper-realistic photographs but to create work that speaks to me and hopefully someone else as well.

Right you are! I have gone through that file so many times looking for where those damn halos come from and can't get rid of them. One of the reasons why I do exposure blending with photoshop using luminosity masks instead of hdr software or the hdr built in into photoshop is exactly that... over processed software introduces halos among other problems.

But, after processing that file several times now, I've decided that I simply need to move on...

I too use Photoshop and Luminosity Masks. Your photo looks a bit over-processed to me, based on your 3 photos you posted on your tutorial.

Great shot...I actually really like it...the colours and textures are awesome.

However, I found the halo too distracting to truly enjoy your picture. I think backing down a bit on the contrast may help that a bit...
