I hit Waukegan early and then just before sunset. Never got the big breaks that were in Chicago and farther south, but happy to be out there and witness a true washing machine. It was something to see, but my thoughts and prayers go out to the others that couldn't stand back and enjoy it, but fight it head on.

Great shots. Those look like very powerful waves. I heard that there were waves over 20' on lake Huron. I'm sure lake Michigan was similar.

I was at that exact spot around 2pm. The Lake was amazing to see in person. I keep a boat in Waukegan Harbor so I have spent countless hours on the water and to see it like that was both exciting and scary. I got a few decent shots as well. I will post them either later today or tomorrow.

Very nice. I just moved from Waukgen to Lake Bluff. Been here almost two years and haven't had a chance to shoot Lake Michigan (here for grad school). Gotta get out there some time.

Thank you, they were pretty big, but the big breaks were happening further south of me.

I'd like to see them! I boated out of North Point for a couple of years, but wasn't going to try that breakwater yesterday...

Yeah you do! I get over when I can, and make it to Montrose for the birds as well. Great city!

I like #3 the best..

I love the sequence though because I grew up in that area and went to that beach nearly every day over summers while I was in high school.

Bringing back some memories, thanks :)

I'm really glad you posted that last one! I've got a big stopper in my bag and thought about using it, but didn't. Really nice job on these.
