Man, seeing all this talk about how sexy the 85 1.2 isn't helping me. I'm in the market for this lens....just waiting for a killer deal to come along and the wait is killing me!

Bryan

Do it. I did and I could never sell. It's so sexy. Beautiful hunk of glass.

It's a small black lens with a HUGE front element that really stands out, therefore people will get Shiny Object Syndrome and want to buy what they see??????

18-55 non-IS. It's superb in every conceivable way. I have a poster of it hanging in my room.

This subject popped up in conversation last night while talking with some friends and the consensus was the 135L - even the Nikon shooters agreed :D(though the 85L and Sigma 85
were a very close second).

Regards,
Eric

Out of the ones that I get to play with, easily the 400mm 2.8 IS II is the best looking.

First time I looked at my 70-200 F4 IS it damn near made me drop my pants...

does that count?

Hahahahaha +1 :lol::D:p

The 70-200F4 IS is the only lens I own. (until I can afford a wider zoom). I love the looks of it. Not so wide that it looks bulky, and the off-wite barrel and great glass reminds me of something that might have fallen off the space shuttle. All the white-ish Canon lenses have a very "NASA" look to me.

Before the introduction of the 50/1.2L, Canon's top cameras would typically be shown with the inexpensive but standard 50/1.4 in brochures and ads.

I like the look of the 50/1.2L and I think the little 40/2.8STM pancake is quite a beauty. The just-introduced 35/2 IS looks great as well — that may be my new favorite.

I would like to say that the nicest lens is a canon, but alas no.

The nicest is the one that looks the best even without it being on a camera. so for me that goes to the canon 85mm 1.2.

However I think the most beautiful lens really goes to the Leica Noctilux 50mm f0.95

85mm f/1.2 II

The 600mm f/4 IS (the mark I) next probably ... or the 200mm f/2 IS (can't decide)

OK...I'm going to have to edit my previous answer. Up until now I'd never browsed the $10,000+ section of BH Photos lenses. That 500 F4L EF IS II is absolutely gorgeous!:D And along with my previous NASA theme, I'm pretture sure that's the lens astronauts would buy if they wanted to look cool.
