NOT MY PHOTO:

This is a photo taken by John Zhang (1013mm), which he used for an editing contest back in February. I decided to use it for practice last night, and this is my result.

Visiting an exotic car showroom always end with lots of nice snapshots, but getting a photograph from such a series isn't easy, but it can be done with some post processing:

Interested in how you can do the same thing? ... check out my write up on the process (external link)

QUOTED IMAGE

My guess for this is:

Raw processing:

- Adjustment brush to darken exposure on the left and below the car
- Slight bumps to shadows and contrast

Photoshop:

- Cloning out of spots on front bumper/splitter, windshield and bush on the right
- Warming filter at 40% density
- For the sunlight, a radial gradient - orange to black, opacity around 75%, blend mode screen

Am I close?

It has been way too long since a new tutorial was posted ... we had some issues over the last few months, but I'm back now.

Check out my latest write up :

After:

and the road taken to get there : Creating the 'derelict at dusk' look (external link)

Hope you like it ... and it might explain a bit on how to get the effect Andrew got on the BMW 3-Series.
