ID Challenge-

Spotted this guy(I'll call it a male) while I was on the phone. After the call, saw that he was still there, grabbed the camera, took this shot to check the settings and then he was gone. Haven't seen him since. Initially thought it was a Red-breasted Nuthatch and then thought of a Brown Creeper, but it's neither of these. But it's about that size w/ bold white eyebrows. Taken 11/1 in north-central Illinois.
Coincidentally, a RBNH showed up today after a long absence.
Anyway, any suggestions, possibilities on an ID here? I'll keep a lookout for a possible return.

Thought about the Carolina but felt tail was too long-definitely too long for a winter wren. Sure hope it returns-would be a first. Thanks.

I am going with Carolina Wren.. they have a long tail, check out this shot.

Very little doubt, Carolina Wren, I see their little butts all the time, just before they take off!

Carolina Wren, it is. Looked again at my book, Kaufman Field Guide, and actually it shows 2 pix of the CW-one a short chunky bird w/ shorter tail and a second is a sleeker bird w/ a longer tail. Guess this was the latter. Many thanks to all. Still hasn't returned that I've seen-darn.
