I like the processing. I like #3 the best. What camera / lens did you use?

Most are 300, 2.8.

In fact I did little sharpening. The noise is bad, but I'm maxed on ISO and down to 1/500th and shooting at 2.8. I do a lot of noise reduction in Lightroom. Some may get Noise Ninja'd in PS6 and that sharpens them some. I'm not sure which here I ran thru NN.

#3 came out well, again, that was 2.8 bokeh.

Sharpening was fine. Heavy crops? Also LR4 has good NR, I have made 6400 files off a 1Dmk3 look cleaner so I am sure you can too.

Some are very heavy crops, yes.

Sorry way to much noise on these shot .. Your shooting skill is dead on but the noise just kills the photos

I'd love to shoot a day game, and I'd love a body that does 20,000 ISO, but it is what it is.

what body are you shooting with

I use a 7D with a 70-200 and a 1D Mark III with a 300 2.8.

The stadium is darker than it was last year. On my 7D I'll crank it to 12800 and last year I could shoot at 1/1000, but not so this year, and the end zones are darker. The 1DMIII maxes at 6400 and I'm getting 1/500th. I have to choose between noise or blur.

The 1DMIII is also new to me, as I picked it up a few months ago as a second body, replacing a 5D.

1/500 should stop most blur?
I turned off IS on my lens seems to work better on my 40D

The crops are what is causing such excessive noise to be shown. Do you have any images that are close to full frame ie. little to no cropping?

1/500 stops some blur, but depending on the level of the athletes it can be too slow to freeze.
