( I did rent the s2 for a job and was not convinced) The new M will be that camera.

The rendering and microcontrast is undescribable. ![]() I saw some photos in this thread or the D800 thread a while back taken with a Zeiss wide angle of some sort (21? 25?). I'm afraid to go look at them again lest I be Medussa-ed into a Zeiss trance

What I do see is severe vignetting which gives it/them a unique look. The 14-24mm even bests the zeiss 15mm at apertures of >5.6.

My attorney brought his M9 to a Porsche driving event we attended, he had no idea how to use so he let me take pictures with it. Nothing special in my mind.

Here is a link to a comparison against the zeiss 15mm. http://www.3d-kraft.com …camerasandlenses&Itemid=2 ![]() Funny that you should post this. I saw this linked some time ago (can't remember if it was in this thread or somewhere else) and my main reason for looking at it was the comparison to the Samyang 14mm. The Zeiss 15mm is out of my confort zone because of the price. After seeing these comparisons I crossed the Samyang 14mm off my list, IMO it is either a mediocre lens or it has trouble with a 36MP sensor.

That's why I was looking at it, seems it did pretty well on the 5Dc/5D2 but I crossed it off my list when I saw those D800 samples, and that was the E version.

A little heavy similar to the Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 with regards to weight. I have before and wound up buying the f2 ZE. It's optically good or equal to the f1.4 at similar apertures. The decision ultimately comes down to needing f1.4.
