It's probably the size that gives the smoothness of focus.

I'm fine with the size, but 90 bucks..? I can't imagine the parts/materials for that cost more than 8 bucks.

Can anyone offer any additional Follow Focus Rigs that are relatively inexpensive ($200 or less)? Anyone have any actual experience using such rigs?

I have the DFocus with baseplate for $220 with 3 lens rings. It is solid and reliable.
