Sorry for the double post ( I posted this also over in the alienbee thread ), but I thought this also fit over here in this thread. Self port.

Main is the 47" octa, metered at just under f/11. The beauty dish metered 2.5 stops under the main, and the stripbox back there was 1.5 stops under. I had started out with the BD in closer to me, but the effect from it was to "soft" since it was so close, so I backed it off several feet to try to get it just as a subtle fill, and a little harder.
The original had a reasonable amount of light on the BG, but using the "high contrast" preset in lightroom pretty much dropped the BG out to black, then in photoshop I did some messing with levels, and the burn and dodge tool. Fun stuff to do inside for a cool rainy outside day.
1DMk2, 85mm, iso100, f/11

Nice work on the sun spots!

Of note, I have that telescope as my backup, and it fell over one time (cub scout), and the whole focuser broke off in a clean circumferential crack. So, if it ever takes a beating, give that black bit at the back a look-over before you throw your T2i or any Naglers on it ;) Also, I was able to super-glue it back together and it maintained collimation, so no loss (had a cheap kit eyepiece in it that didn't take damage either).

Why would you ruin an image like this leaving a camera on a tripod in it?!

Same here, I did not see it until keyframe14 brought to our attention!
