I like it, a little grainy, but it adds character, I would have done it in b/w but thats just me haha!

I rented one of these for the weekend. I think this focal length is going to work better for me than the 50mm. Wish I didn't have to work tonight!

How do people get portraits to look so good with this lens? Are you correcting the distortion in post? How do people not look dog-nosed? The above is just downright gorgeous. I don't know how you do it :(

I didnt correct anything in post in terms of distortion....So I guess I have to blame it on good luck? And thanks! :D

Real blur, shot at f/1.4
I'm all about shooting wide open :)

I was a little concerned about distortion with this FL for portraits and have come to find out that 35mm is fantastic for portraits. Wider would probably be an issue. Also, LR's lens profile does tweak it a tad to flatten it out. Add it as an import preset and you will never know the difference. However there are sometimes that I actually prefer the shot with that titch of distortion this FL provides.

Anyone know where I can get a replacement distance scale window for the 35L? Mine has a horizontal crack across it, but I never ever dropped it...I take good care of my lens
