Couple of questions.... i noticed my camera tends to under expose my pictures when i shoot in manual mode and auto iso and it doesnt matter what metering mode i use.... is that just how it is? When i import the pics into LR4 i have to bump the exposure +1.4 to 1.5 in most cases.

Also in the past i've used sensor swabs to clean the sensor what are you guys using to clean the sensor?

Here is an extreme example....

Straight off the camera

I don't have a 1DX but my 5D2 does the same thing.

I compensate by just bumping 'exposure compensation' +2/3 or +1.

It works for me. ._.

My 5D2 does that too but the 1DX seems much more accurate
These are a few of my first test shots and I love this camera!

P.S. Love the air museum pics

First full outing with the 1Dx. Used the 70-200 f2.8L USM II. I am loving this camera except for one thing...
The AF is so accurate and the high burst rate so fast that I ended up with over 500 very good photos for this one hour game!
With the 5D mk3 I'd come home with a couple hundred and whittle it down to about 50 good ones. I don't think the 1Dx missed but a half dozen focuses out of 500! (or I should say I missed focuses!)

Use sensor swabs still if it doesnt come off with the Arctic Butterfly. My one was a mess straight out the box.

One of the great things of the Focal Pro software is checking what aperture it will start to be apparent in your pics.

Dust delete is great if im not swapping lenses trackside but need to keep it up to date all the time for best results.

I am no expert, but for this particular photo, I would guess the snow in the scene might be messing with the meter.

How about other examples. Not sure this is a good example, since the camera is going to want to make all that snow 18% gray.

i thought that too... but it was still over cast and snowing... but i tired spot metering and still same results. Looking into exposure compensation according the manual it doesn't work in Manual mode... which is use 99% of the time.

Hmmm let me think of some other times I can remember it doing this.

Here is a quick example... probably the dark car and light garage doors are messing with the sensor...

Off the camera as shot.

I agree. My 1Dx tends to underexpose at least .5 if not a full stop in some instances. It seems more noticeable than my 1DS3. I guess there is always the option of the exposure calibration setting in the menu if it seems persistent.
