Do we have to pay for clean & checkups if our lens is still under warranty

If we want to send in our lens before the warranty expires for an inspection and clean, does Canon charge us or is it free?

As with any product, I imagine your warranty only covers defects. If there is nothing wrong with the lens, I would expect you to be billed for any cleaning work undertaken.

...the key point behind warranty coverage. You don't expect Toyota to pay for wheel alignment or washing and waxing your car, either (even if the new car service coverage covers oil changes for the first three years!)
