Do they make one for the D700? I'm trying one this weekend, and finding my pinkie finger has no place to go, but I'd prefer not to have the still-more weight of the full grip.

From what I can tell only the D3200 and D5100 right now but I'm sure that there will be demand to fit the other bodies. Since the D700 is now discontinued I'm not sure about one for that body. I've seen so many complaints about the D600 not big enough for the hands I would be that one is in the works.

Here's another cool gadget:

They also make one for the D5100. As popular as the D600 seems to be for those of you who don't need a regular grip and just find it too small for your hands these look to be the perfect solution.

If only they made something to make the camera feel more like a 5D.

Hey, ever since I blew out my gear budget on the 16-35 I've avoided FM like the plaque. Bad things happen over there because I wind up in the FS forum and find things I just can't do without.

How about that pair of EN-EL15s you snagged? That guy must have had a bunch of them, I bought one from him last month.

Need help in choosing between D700 and D600. I am looking to upgrade from a D300s and I shoot portraits, family and travel.

If you are interested in image quality, then go with the D600.

I know how that goes. My sister passed away on Tuesday and I am in no shape to travel right now so I can't go out there until next month.

Thanks I was leaning towards the D600. Local shop has an open box with 200 shots selling for 1900, the customer returned because his D800 arrived.

The D700 only has 7100 shots also for 1550.

I would think both cameras would yield exceptionally high quality shots, and if there is a benefit outside of MPs, it would be pretty small. I am guessing that price and ergonomics (as well as size/weight) would be more important decision criteria???

Either camera will work for you and will see a significant change in IQ.

The advantage in getting the D700 is that you can use the same battery charger, batteries and battery grip that you use with your D300s. You will have the option to get up to 8 fps with the D800 while maintaining a great 51 pt AF sensors. The price is about average.

D600 offers more MP and probably has better DR than the D700 plus it offers video and other newer features.

Glenn
