MAP is nothing new. It has never stopped stores from selling other products below MAP or MSRP. Sometimes, you need to add it to the shopping cart to see the lower price, sometimes you have to call, on ebay, sometimes some sellers put "Make an Offer" option so you can offer a lower price that the seller would accept.

Whether a seller would use these methods to sell below MAP/MSRP is a separate question.

does anyone even think that Adorama, B&H, Amazon and other high end retailers would take the chance on Canon pulling their inventory and no longer an authorized reseller ? I highly doubt it.
Alot of revenue to be lost.

Exactly. Nikon has the same pricing policies, and their stuff is never discounted unless they say it is.

The $2650 deal was from beach camera, an authorized dealer.

Don't remember Beach Camera offering that price. Lowest I saw Beach offering was $2800 on eBay. Other prices from Beach via eBay have been $2850 and $2900. Have a link to this supposed price? Doing google searches and even search on SlickDeals doesn't show it being sold for that price.

FYI, a bundled item and than selling off kit lens and all other accessories does not count. We're talking about straight up purchase of a body.

Again, when it comes to authorized dealers, you won't see them doing that. A seller whos not authorized would not follow Canon's guidelines hence the lower prices.

As stated above by someone else, Nikon does the same pricing police. It's only on sale when they say its on sale for those products that fall under the MAP category. Stores can not sell at a discount because they want to. They have to adhere to the manufacturers rules and guidelines.

That Adorama deal was before the MAP. Since Canon is enforcing the MAP, no more deals.

As stated, with Canon enforcing the MAP, you won't find deals from authorized dealers. You'll find deals from those who are unauthorized.

That $2650 price is from an unauthorized dealer. The lowest price to date before Canon's MAP from an authorized dealer was $2750 from Adorama.

Any places selling it for less than $3200 are unauthorized dealers. Same goes for some of the lenses and 600EX-RT that fell under the MAP pricing strategy.

I hate to be a debby-downer but people need to realize that there is no deals from authorized dealers if the item is part of Canon's MAP and giving people false hopes. This is all due to Canon's MAP. Any deals you find will be from unauthorized dealers. Authorized dealers must follow this or they will lose any business with Canon. Unauthorized dealers don't caree as they don't get their items from Canon hence there is no warranty.

Photo 4 less is a canon dealer and they are currently selling it for $3199. So I quess that blows your theory

Having dealt with retailers on high priced items with best offers, they won't be taking much off. I even dealt with overseas sellers on cheap USB items and they only offered 25¢-$1 discount

if a store wants to sell something under MAP without advertising and without disturbing its margins - it can. There is nothing that Canon can do about it - so if Amazon, BHP and Adorama do sell the stuff without advertising through other channels - Canon simply cannot do anything. And Canon cannot afford to lose Amazon, Adormama or BHP and the volume they provide.

Let us not be fanboys and try to put up justifications - I am part of the retail channel/big business and sellign under MRP is possible (if the store wants too, though eating into its margin/profitability). There are 2-3 different levels of pricing which a retailer maintains at all times.

They're more open to offers when you offer to buy accessories, etc. too
