Sigma 100-300mm f/4 EX DG HSM

I just got a 1.4TC. Had I known that the IQ would be this good with a TC, I would have got this a while ago. I have just taken 30 minutes of test shots at lunch today, but plan to try more this weekend. I more or less wanted to verify that it was a good copy. these are at 420mm.

A great lens. AF is surprisingly fast and manged to track fast-moving athletes quite well. The only downside is that it's not weather sealed so please, Sigma, bring on the updated weather sealed 100-300 f4 OS!

Bump! Does anyone have anymore?? Just sold my only telephoto (55-250) and I think this one is going to be the replacement. The search is on!

If you get a good copy of this lens you have a winner. This photo is taken with a Sigma 1.4x. I´m not happy with the IQ with the Sigma TC so I´ve started used a Kenko 1.4x which I find better with this lens.

Found a used copy on adorama for what seems an ok price ($614). I don't believe it includes the hood or tripod collar which is a downer, but I do like the 30 return policy when buying a used 3rd party lens.

The hood and tripod collar were not optional accessories - they came with the lens (as did a nice case). The price sounds OK, but you might have difficulty finding a collar.

I'm aware.. Interesting it says it comes with box and case. But no mention of hood or collar. Any aftermarket collars that are universal or might fit?

Like I said, the ability to send this back made it worth while in my eyes.

edit: They actually show a non-DG version for $484. Seems too good to be true

They tend to under categorize their lenses (i.e. they are usually in better condition than stated) and I believe they have a very liberal return policy. I just bought a Canon 1.4x II TC from them that was labelled EX+ and it looks brand new and was in the original box. I don't know much about the difference between the DG and non DG versions of the lens.
