I like them. First one could look a little better with some color pop to bring out the magenta in the sky, the color of the buildings and the green in the cliff wall. It looks a little flat, but is an interesting scene. The sunset looks cool with the glare coming across the water. You might consider moving the horizon out of the middle though. It might be interesting with some of the beach and seaweed in the foreground with the sky only in the top 3rd. It doesn't look like there is much going on above the lower cloud bank. You could try a lower perspective too.

Your redo of the first photo looks much better. In the sunset photo I would like to see the dark area along the very bottom of the image cropped out as well as part of the sky so the sky occupies the upper third of the frame as previously mentioned. Very nice photos.
