Sorry - I mis-typed. Here are the corrected figures:
YN-622C low-power threshhold = 2.2 volts.
Nominal NiMH - 1.2 volts, x2 = 2.4 volts.
You are on the way out before you start.

Only 0.2 of a volt to start with, compared to 0.8.

NiMH can deliver to the flash the current needed to get a fast recharge.

Thank you, that's just what I was hoping to hear and will solve the problem when needing to trigger the camera when actally away from it and having the speedlites and camera set up with the YN-622C's.

You can! ("Shutter release", not "trigger", the camera) Just not with the 622 in the shutter release chain.

MedicinSC has it right.

602TX in hand ~> 602RX connected to camera shutter release port by appropriate cable. Let the 602RX hang from the camera tripod so that it is at least 9 inches from the top of the camera.

622 flash trigger on camera hotshoe ~> 2x (622 + flash). Keep the fourth 622 as a ready-to-swap backup when a battery fails.

Each to its own job. I use this configuration frequently to avoid camera shake in close-up photography.

Thanks CliveBoy -- that's a lot of work you put into this documentation. It makes a HUGE difference for those of us that are coming up to speed on wireless triggers with Canon.

If you need full remote control of the flash, the
comparable in strength to the YN-568EX only YN-565EX (without HSS)
The most affordable YN-465,(without HSS) but it is much less powerful.

All flash YN with digital designation 560 and 460 is Full Manual flash. All settings are made directly on the flash.
From the menu of the camera, you can just disable sync with manual flash units that are in "Group C" if you choose A: B.
You can choose to sync: 1st, 2nd curtain and SuperSync
if you connect the flash to the manipulative PC port of the receiver with a cable.

This is all that is available from the camera for manual flashes.

Another quick question - apologies if this has been covered:

Canon 5d3 using a 622c on camera and a 622c on a 580 EX II off camera. Could the 580EXII then act as a commander to control other flashes through TTL optically, and would those other flashes be able to be set up via on camera menus if compatible with canon TTL?
