Part of why we rejected some much more trick, complicated QR systems was the fact that they all required some sort of specialty widget to be permanently attached to the camera. With the gate hook, you need nothing more than a low-profile split key on the camera to clip into. At the same time, you can still hook onto larger items (like the D-ring on our membrane connectors). This gives us the ability to sort of future-proof our products and not be limited in attachment options. We can also offer specialty connectors for funky cameras and niche applications.
We have also developed our own triangle split key (like the ones Nikon ships on their pro-cameras). Unlike the Nikon version, ours is self centering and works on both lugs (like Nikon and Leica) and Canon brackets.
The kit will ship with 2 hooks, 2 triangle split keys and 2 standard round split-keys. As such, it will adapt to nearly any camera - and the hooks work on any camera with 10mm or 3/8" webbing connectors (factory straps, UpStraps, Domkes, Crumplers and the like).
