The longer you hold onto your 7D, the more it will depreciate and the less you will get for it when you actually decide to sell it.

Why not put the 7D up for sale in the POTN classifieds, FM, CL, etc, and see what happens. If you don't find a buyer to pay what you want, you're not obligated to sell it.

Or (and this might not be a popular response)

Maybe you should spend less time on the internet, reading and discussing camera equipment and spend your time reading and discussing how to become better at your craft and apply it to what you already enjoy using? Stop teasing yourself and lusting over new gear. Take a break. Instead use all that energy towards your photography. There's a ton of gear options available to all of us. In your case I think it might be complicating things. Take a break and enjoy the beauty of photography.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass. I'm trying to be helpful and that's my ultimate suggestion.

Probably the best practical advise that I've read so far that makes sense. I know It took me atleast two weeks before I finally decided on which tripod and ballhead that I was going to buy. As much as possible, I don't like to buy and sell equipment anymore. Just go for the best equipment that you are willing to pay for and stay away from mediocre stuff.

I've been that route before and I don't want to do that again. It was a waste of time and money with the other lenses that I've tried. There is a reason why some equipment are more expensive than the others.

Regards,
Glenn

I won't try them, did it once (3 times, same lens) and had a bad experience. Never again.
