One of my friends and former employees asked me to do her engagement portraits. Since I am going to her wedding, I am not photographing it, but wanted to give them their engagement session as a gift. I usually photograph children and families so this was a nice change for me. I would love to do more in the future. They listen much better then children

Are you looking for critique at all? In my opinion the backgrounds for the first 4 shots don;t fit your subjects and in pic #1 he has a yellow bush coming out of his head, pic#2 a branch out of his head, pic#3 what purpose does the door serve?, pic #4 unnatural uncomfortable looking pose for the man and his energy does not match with hers, pic #5 beautiful picture but both their feet are in uncomfortable pictures it looks unnatural, pic #6 I would have framed them closer to the center of the door to create a perfect balance. pic #7 the framing is one sided and not balanced, pic #8 her wrist is in a very unnatural uncomfortable position.

Otherwise good job!

I love the processing. Awesome.

I don't like your posing techniques though. The couple look awkward in all the photos. Especially the guy. There is definitely a sense of uneasiness here. Work on your posing and your photos will make leaps and bounds.

Also, your in camera cropping needs more work. Don't be afraid to get in close and also move further back to get some more scenery in your shots. These seem a bit in the middle and show a bit of uncertainty in your cropping in camera.

I like the venues, the poses (most of them) and the lighting. the crushed blacks in PP is the "rage" these days, just doesn't work for me though.
