Very nice series Ian, especially the flight shots, something not often seen.

Great looking birds and a very nice set, Ian. The in-flight shots are very cool as we don't see them in flight often.

Those are great shots. Any in flight shots of ducks are hard to get. Nice work.

Great series. Have only seen these ducks at a great distance in Yellowstone.

Nice job with detail in both the white and black feathers.

I'm still trying to get a good picture of a Hoodie. There are plenty of them around here, but they move away from the shore any time someone approaches.

Very nice especially the in flight shots, those are very difficult to get as you said they are fast when in flight.

Thanks everyone for the kind remarks. I found a new spot on a bank upriver a bit that offers a good approach for the ducks as they fly upriver, and generally they either fly up the centre of the river, or up the opposite bank. This afforded me the view for the in-flight shots. They still weren't REAL close, but close enough ;) And if I sat still enough, a few of them did approach quite close. But the temps are dropping here and the fingers did get COLD!
