It usually takes a few months. Canon has a hard core full price/early adopter fan base.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Yeah haha I bought the 60D the first week it was available, so I never really checked up on price patterns.

If that impresses you, you should see how it organize all your images in album according to the map and geography. Very useful feature.

I haven't seen that, is there any more material out on this?

The map feature is definitely cool. I use Flickr for my uploads and I like their map feature, but I can see where after coming back from a vacation it would be useful to see the images laid out on a map during processing, for comments and such.

When Canon announced the 6D, the specs made me outright angry.
Just a single AF cross point ???. Say what?

But now that I'm seeing the IQ, I am softening up ... very quickly .

I am mostly talking of my own experience with my Sony Alpha 55 that one of main reasons to buy it early and keep it next to my Canons was that GPS feature.

Will I buy one? No. I will stick with my 100% viewfinder, faster (1/8000 shutter, 1/250th flash synch, and 8fps), better weather sealed, better AF and likely, more sturdily built 7D. All qualities I've used and enjoy. And I will probably do so until Canon either puts the price of the 5DIII closer to $2k, yeah right, or releases a camera that is a worthwhile upgrade for me. I have the $ for a new body, and it's burning a hole in my pocket eager to be spent but I just can't justify it over the 7D right now and I spend money EASY. ;) Hopefully my 7D lasts until the next release cycle. And hopefully there's a camera that excites me in that release... I'm honestly reluctant to add to my lenses in case I decide to switch...something I don't want to do for several reasons.

I am considering the 6D, but can wait.
If it is out for say, a year, prices will have dropped and the unavoidable firmware update will have taken most of the early adapters problems away.
