My best non-L is the EF-S 15-85. Love this lens still, after 2+ years.

the new 24mm and 28mm IS lenses are excellent, though cost alone should put them in the L prime category.

The 100mm f/2 (external link) is my favorite non L lens followed by the 85mm f/1.8.

Yeah.. I sold several L series lenses to fund my Zeiss glass - I was blown away by their sharpness - L series lenses don't come close in terms of sharpness.

Now I lust after that wonderful creamy look of the 85 1.2 L...

Grass is always greener etc.. Bad habit of mine.

With lenses you could say "The glass is always cleaner on the other side".

No L's in my camera bag but the 15-85 and Sigma 150/2.8 Macro (non-OS) are my best EF mount lenses.

There are quite many excellent non-L lenses. 50/1.4, EF-S 10-22, Sigma 85 and 100 macro are some great non-L lenses I have owned...
