Lyndön Goldmember More info | Nov 10, 2012 17:48 | #17 12GB triple channel on my PC desktop and 16GB on my MacBook Pro. That's the max for both of them. Both are Core i7 quads. I can't really tell that much difference between them. Both work fine for my purposes. CS5/LR3

It was not slow enough to complain about before... but after seeing the speed improvement after adding the new... I literally sat here and giggled about how much it sped up.

Phoenixkh a mere speck More info | Nov 24, 2012 19:16 | #24 My new Dell laptop only has 8 GB of RAM but it also has a 2 gig video card so I think that's one reason I don't seem to see any delays in CS6 or Lightroom 4. Though, truth be told, this is my first venture into Lightroom so I have no frame of reference. Half way down where it states "Phyiscal memory limits in window 7" will show you how much RAM is allow per OS system. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978610 ![]() For more than 16GB, you need the pro version of the OS. When you see my camera gear you'll think I'm a pro.

You recommend 32 GB for regular quad core CPUs and 48 GB for some of the hexa-core CPUs then?
