Bluesydude, I'm not an avid "birder" but I find that I'm looking forward to your pics. You do a nice job on the little feathery things! Keep it up!

Thank you very much!

Hello to everyone. Just got my T3i Friday and have started messing around with it. Can't wait to really get into learning how to use it. I was going to ask about settings but see that Ace and Deuce stated that a lot if the info is listed in Flickr. Thank you. Also, any advice on accessories I should get? Thank you and have a great day.
Dave

start with a good SD card (sandisk, transcend, etc) class 10 & maybe a grip with extra batteries if you plan to shoot a lot at a time.

I would say a tri pod & a good camera bag-one that fits your lenses & is easy to open/close when you want to switch your lenses. Good luck!

Thanks, I got one of the 32G Sandisk cards that Best Buy had. I already had a good tripod and a bag to use. Should I get a flash 1st or get a zoom lens? I placed some pics on flickr. How do I put the links on here and get the pics to show?

I found these videos after I saw his video on the T3i. I really like the way he teaches settings. Wish I would have seen this stuff when I took photography 10 yrs ago in high school.

nice. depends what you want to shoot. are you planning to shoot a lot at night or in dark places? or you going to shoot events that require you to stand far back? i just got a 580exII and its amazing! no more worrying to shoot in the dark lol

on flickr, view your photo and go to "share, Grab the HTML/BBCode" and there's a link along with what size you want to use. copy that link and post it here.

That's why I'm leanign toward the flash over hte 1st lens. OR, I'll jsut get both. I always seem to be taking picutres at low light with my existing camera.

I'll try that again with the pictures. That's what I thought I did the 1st time and all it showed was a little box where the pictures should be.

Thank you foryour help.

Thank you. The conversion to post online is terrible. The ones on Flickr look cleaner. Especially the rose close-up. I'm working on bluring out the back ground and remembering to focus on one eye.

Haven't been able to do much shooting lately, but a day off and some morning sun got me out there today for a bit, even if it was just the front yard, lol. I took just my camera & my 50mm out on Saturday, got to where I wanted to shoot, fired up the camera, and...forgot to put my memory card in...of course :(
