Today I took pictures of some blue and yellow macaws with the both memories inserted. The CF for RAW and the SD for JPEG.

To my surprise when I noticed all the pictures in both memories were JPEGs then I verified the following situation:

- If you swap CF memories while the camera is ON, the system switches the RAW option for memory 1 to JPEGs as it is in memory 2

Have this happened to you too?

Well you can get a number of different scenarios that either changes the card being used or changes the one being displayed but I've never had it change from RAW to JPEG like you have.

How do you ear mark a photo for uploading with the eye fi? Do you rate it 5 stars?

There is no earmarking a photo to upload. Pretty much, when the camera/card sync with a phone/ipad/computer it starts uploading all the shots on the card and continues as long as connected and you keep shooting.

According to the company, some people have had success with it, some people haven't. This is what I was told by eye-fi a month ago:

Our firmware developers and QA team are actively working on a new firmware update that should generally improve compatibility with many camera models, but I cannot give a timetable for its completion, nor a guarantee that it will fix the issues you are seeing with the 5D Mark III.

Unfortunately, it does look as if this camera model may be incompatible with Eye-Fi cards, or at least has some known issues that we need to address. I will make the suggestion that we list this camera as incompatible on our website moving forward, until we've been able to properly resolve the issue.

Yes - the company thinks it works fine with some 5D3s and not others. I have two, one early and one recent, and have tried two eye-fi cards, the 8 and 16GB pro cards, and both cards occasionally lock up both of my cameras. I wonder if it might be related to the fact that the camera write speed to the CF card is affected by the SD card's write speed, whether the card is in use or not. I haven't tested the camera without a CF card and just the eye-fi card.

Careful if you're considering the eye-fi, as it's not compatible with the 5D mk III

Which specific Eye-Fi cards have you had problems with?
