I know it's a hawk of some sort, just not what kind.

Unless you have a way of identifying the sex of a juvenile Northern Harrier based off of a photo, I would have to say it is a female or juvenile (either male or female). Males are gray.;)

Owl like face is a dead giveaway... Saw my first northern harrier on the hunt on Sunday at Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge. What an awesome sight!

Really nice shot. They toy with me, acting as if they will fly right towards me as they are hunting before making a u-turn. I'll get em one day though :)
