Christmas Card?

Please go to the 2nd page to see the re-shoot. Thank you!

I have seen variations of this before and gave it a try. Since it is also a self portrait I found it difficult to get the lights more evenly distributed after getting the shot set up then joining the family.

Do you like this for a Christmas card or do you think it's cheesy? Don't worry about offending me, I really want to know.

Well of course it's cheesy! But it's also terrific. I would love to get a christmas card like this. Would make me smile big time. :)

Wheres the love? Looks like how a group of guys would stand there.. It kinda looks like there are arms around one another but the black shirts on black background hide it.. IMO

That's what I tried to tell my wife, she said it looks silly (stupid silly). I told her it's supposed to look silly and make the recipient smile.

I understand the comment about standing like a group of guys. When we moved closer together the lights drooped. Maybe I should have considerd a different setup but it was hard enough to get them to agree to this

I'm still on the fence whether to use this

Haha I really like it. Works really well, holiday pictures should be fun like this. The spacing is fine in my opinion, you don't have to have lovey-dovey holiday photos. You did a great job

Think of it this way, Mike. All those nice, traditional, boring cards will be forgotten the moment they are put away. This one will stand out and not be easily forgotten!

Just a thought... :)

Cheesy but good. I just dont like the red gel on the white fur hat trim, that really bugs me for some reason.

I would like it "All the Way";) if Mom was in the middle! She looks lonely over there.

Thanks Flo. The trouble is I had to drape them with lights, get the shot set up, then put myself in the middle. I didn't think I could get it set up with me on the end. Maybe I should have tried **shrugs shoulders**

I think I will just roll with it, what the heck! It's not supposed to be a gallery piece

The best Christmas cards are the cheesy ones! I would have added some "ugly sweaters" to the mix to be hoenst. What better way to say 'Merry Christmas!' than with a fuzzy knit snowflake and reindeer sweater wrapped in C9 lights. Oh and the Santa hats are must!

I agree with a above post about mom on the end. And maybe a differnt pose than just squared up with the camera. Though, if it were a bit wider crop I think the square positioning, along with the added cheese I mentioned above would make this really fun!

Good news, bad news. The bad news is mom really doesn't like this version.

The good news is she wants to re-shoot! Thanks for the feedback, I will be incorporating your suggestions into version 2 :)
