If you go to petapixels website, they have a clip where a man had three cameras setup doing time lapse and one for stolen and was still shooting up til the guy got caught later in the night. Pretty cool.

I think putting it right next to a dead animal (food to a lion) wasn't a smart idea. First, it's next to the lion's food. Second, the lion likely wouldn't let you close to its food if it was right there. You would have had to wait for the lion to finish its meal (and might then have to deal with jackals) or kiss your camera goodbye.

For sale: A blood-sputtered, guts-encrusted 5DII. Body in good condition, some teeth marks visible.

Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!

Knowing the people of today, going by that description, no one would consider that the camera may have been used during a safari. ;) Also expect the cops at your door.

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

Ha! Indeed, it sounds like the camera was bought at a "Black Friday" sales event.

Yes I didn't find it funny. And no, I don't have the original strap.
