Chris, how are you liking the manual focus? And how useful is it in everyday situations?

I tried a little to mf but to be honest, it sucks. The AF is way better through to EVF than OVF but it's quick and accurate enough for what I shoot that MF isn't even a questions for me. I'm sure it's a lot easier with a CZ or Leica mounted to it. It only took a few days to get used to the button layout and menus. I'm not quite at the point where I can do it by touch but it's getting easier by the day. Low light is incredible, the iq is incredible, the size is incredible haha. I'm still hoping they work with Adobe on getting a better RAW support for it. I don't shoot much landscape so the watercoloring issue isn't really a standout point for me but it is something that would be nice to address.

Here's another wide open near one of the falls

Took the Fuji to Disneyland last week. The night photo was shot @ISO6400. Noise performance is amazing. I used Adobe to edit, since the X-trans sensor isn't fully supported the JPEG SOOC have much more details than shown below.

Looks like B&H moved out the expected ship date of the XF 18-55 to 12/4. So I don't see my X-E1 kit shipping before next week. I really hate waiting....

Here's another shot from my first real shoot with it. I actually had two senior shoots and was frustrated with the Fuji on the first shoot and blown away by it on the second one. Mainly it was the aperture priority in good light. I went back to the shots and settings and was confused. I was shooting at 1.4 but the camera chose 1/4000 which is fine but ISO800?! Why not drop the ISO to the base native of 200 and lower the SS? It was weird but oh well. I shot full manual on the second shoot and that made a world of difference. AV priority is good in low light with auto ISO set to 6400 but in good light I'll be shooting full M from now on.

Nope, it was decent looking out of camera but he has a minor imperfection under his nose due to some complication and wasn't able to have it removed before the shoot so I did my normal skin retouching and evening of the tones and then did a minor curves/levels adjustment to make it pop a little more but all in all maybe 15 minutes of retouching. It's always easier to retouch guys than girls though haha

Here's two more. I really have to rethink my sharpening on files now. I can't do my typical sharpening like I did on the 5d2 files as these don't really need it.

I really, really don't need to spend money on another camera. And I'm perfectly satisfied with my current camera(s). But you guys sure are making it hard to resist.

Well I sold my 60D kit and I was surprised how hard it was to let that camera go. I had it for 2 years. My first DSLR and it treated me well. I recently felt it was time to upgrade so I put it all for sale thinking I was going to buy a used 5DII... Until I found this little gem. While it still hurts that I can't fire a bunch of shots in a hurry or grab focus in a snap, I think I will take this camera more often than a DSLR and that is better for my photography. Only time will tell if it was the right decision or not. I'm no pro and don't have the scratch to pimp both rigs so this is it for the next while...

BTW... Some great images in here. I can't wait to get the 35mm and excited for future lens releases.

X-E1 with kit 18-55 zoom. YN triggers still work... Nothing special, just getting familiar with it with one of my favorite models ;)
