Darn it! I misplaced my 10 stop filter... I really wanted to use it yesterday and this weekend. Gotta find it...

I like the subject of this one, but I can't quite tweak it so it looks better. Suggestions? I don't like the light/tones on the rocks in the foreground. Looks fake to me.

Pics from walking down Marshall beach to the Golden Gate Bridge during a low tide. Both of these are 30 sec with a Big stopper and the second had a Daryl Benson Reverse GND. I have a bunch more/some shorter exposures on FLICKR if anyone is interested!

I can't wait for my 5D Mark 3 to get here, going to be a shame to get rid of my EF-S 10-22 but I'm sure the 17-40 will be a good replacement.

I'm looking to pick up a 10 Stop ND filter for Christmas, can anyone suggest a specific lens (67mm thread). I've been looking at a B+W 67mm ND 3.0-1,000X (external link), but the wording in the product description makes me unsure I'm even looking at the right type of lens filter.

Its principal field of application is the observation and documentation of industrial processes with extreme brightness, such as steel furnaces, incinerators, glowing filaments in halogen- and other bulbs.

Thanks in advance.

You want a filter or a lens?

I advise you to get the larger size of the filter and then use the step-down ring, this way you can use the filter on any lenses up to that largest size available for the filter [95mm i remember].

Yes, that's the one. 10 stops = 1024x (2^10), which is pretty close to ND3 (the number after ND is the power of ten). I have a solar filter that is designed for looking directly at the sun for observing sunspots, etc, and it is an ND5 (100,000x), which is a little over 16 stops.

The description is referring to its use in normal production or professional photography, and just doesn't mention its creative uses.
