Thanks everyone! It's a Cheetah Qbox 24" w/ a YN 560. Hmm, didn't realize it didn't have EXIF info on my Flickr, I'll try to remember to get the info up later when I'm off work.

Maybe just birds on a stick to the non-nature enthusiasts but a challenging species and I love a challenge. This simple set up cost around $30 and provides a portable, quick-assembly blind that gets me within 30 feet or less of Belted Kingfishers. Without the blind you're doing well to get within 100 -150 feet. I set up near natural vertical foliage to help me blend in. I arrive before sunrise and wait near the bird's favorite fishing perches. The rig doesn't make me invisible so they're still leery but with the human form being disguised the birds tolerate the shrub with the big black eye.

Gorgeous pictures all except the first. All I see are bushes, tall grass, and water.

Fantastic shots. What lens was used for these? The first shows 700mm but I don't see anything matching that in the gear list.

togish, what material is the white cardboard under the model's feet on the white background set? It seem to produce a nice reflection?

That's most likely the 500mm/4 with 1.4 extender attached: 500x1.4=700.

Thanks very much Mark. I always pack plenty of patience and the dedication comes from the enjoyment I get from being out in the great outdoors.

Thanks very much. Yes Mark is correct, 500L and 1.4 TC = 700mm.

Fantastic shots. What type of sheeting is that, it looks very handy?
