I wonder if this was a mistake since it only lasted a few hours and the deal was immediately pulled as soon as everyone picked up on it and started posting the link. That kit is $400 off everywhere bringing the total to $3699. Maybe Amazon screwed up and took $400 off the discounted price by mistake.

We'll know when/if people start posting about cancelled orders. I should of jumped on this just for the "cheap" lens!

Actually last week you could pick kit for $3499. So $3299 is not out of place IMHO.

I am looking forward to seeing more price drop in the overall DSLR segment in 2013. Given the pressure from the mirrorless segment and small sensor technology advancement is real and heavy, I suspect the segment might stop growing or significantly slow down as soon as late 2013 / early 2014... Overall price of DSLR will have to come down significantly and redundant models/ product lines will have to be ceased.

As per CPW --

Amazon was mistakenly applying the current instant rebate amount on top of their already discounted price.

Congrats to those who got in before the price mistake was caught.

Well, Amazon can certainly cancel orders that had price mistake. They did it in the past.

This was a pricing error? I hope they honor mine. I actually got a call to get authorization for my order.

We have to wait and see what Amazon is going to do.I had items getting cancelled in the past due to price mistake. If the information from CPW is correct and it is a price mistake, then it is likely to get cancelled, but maybe not. Perhaphs, you can ask Amazon customer service now. Good luck.

Only one sentence of my full quote was taken, and is a bit out of context. Here it is in its entirety.

It looks like this was indeed a price mistake; Amazon was mistakenly applying the current instant rebate amount on top of their already discounted price. They still have this price mistake active for the 60D and 60D + 18-135 kits.

Good news is, some people have been telling me their order shipped at the low price, so they're probably honoring it. If your order gets cancelled, let me know.

Seeing as Amazon has already shipped a bunch at that price (including mine!), I doubt they will make any cancellations.

This was a legit price. It will be a common price in the very near future.

I haven't received a shipping conformation yet but I did receive an email saying I need to sign for the package when it arrives on Tuesday.

I assume canon has a way to reset that counter.:) Amazon will not sell used goods as new.
