I haven't received a shipping conformation yet but I did receive an email saying I need to sign for the package when it arrives on Tuesday.

Same here

Only one sentence of my full quote was taken, and is a bit out of context. Here it is in its entirety.
(snip)

Out of context? Hardly. You clearly stated this was a " price mistake" on your facebook post for the 5DIII kit. Everything following that sentence had nothing to do with the 5DIII.

Sorry -- perhaps "out of context" was the wrong phrase to use.

I agree the 2nd sentence isn't about the 5DIII, but I was referring to the last sentence, where I said orders weren't being cancelled -- I didn't want to start any panicking about potentially cancelled orders.

Did Amazon honor this deal or cancel the orders?

Absolutely honored. Deal was on for 9hrs and Amazon being one of the best online retailers; and people who order from them frequently; knew this was not a mistake.

One of my best deals ever.

I've been in on a bunch of Amazon pricing goofs and oddities (or whatever they are). I've never had one canceled.

I think this may be the best deal yet on the 5D Mark III. I got my 5D Mark III back in July for $2,589, but that was after having to sell off a ton of stuff from a really big bundle deal.

I wish amazon didn't change tax for us in CA. That killed the deal for me.

Seriously? Amazon is selling refurbish or used one as new to make a few quick bucks !! There are a LOT bigger things in stake for Amazon than a few thousand or million dollars.

^Seriously! Why do people think reputable online retailers like Amazon would sell used or refurbished items as brand new? This is a major retailer not a shady retailer that bait and switch type. This is a great deal if I didn't already bought a package deal from Adorama a week prior to this sale.

Also, you have until January 31, 2013 to return the items if you aren't satisfied with them.

Buy one of the Amazon 10% off codes off of eBay for $10 or so, then buy the kit now for $3599 - 10% = $3239. Or get the body only for $2691 after coupon.

I actually considered getting the 6D body only for $2099 - 10% = $1889, but then I think this is going to be a $1500 - $1700 camera in the not too distant future.

Its a good deal if Amazon doesnt charge sales tax in your area.
