Checked out your photos on Flickr, some nice sea/landscapes, but I really like the rally stuff...some of the vehicles remind me of my 7 years overseas, very cool! Aaaahhhh memories!

-24 still sounds better than -29! ;)

Can you see the aurora ok from cochrane? I have considered heading out that way to watch them. I image you would be able to see farther north than here in Canmore surrounded by mountains. Does the LP from Calgary effect the viewing at all?

Supposed to be clear here with only -18, so come and join us flatlanders! It's only a 6+hour drive, but at least you can warm up in the hot tub after shooting the aurora! LOL

calgary's lights do have an effect, but you can see usually ok. Ghost Lake parking lot is ok..
trying to think of somewhere along hwy one. can't at the moment. next time i head that way I will pay attention see if i can find a good spot..

i have always thought Mcdougall church would be a cool spot, with the church in the foreground and the aurora above it. One day..

I did a 5+ hour drive from Edmonton the other night because of a sudden heavy snow dump and saw atleast 10 cars in the ditch on the way home! I think il stay away from the long drive for now ;)

It was bad enough the roads were iced over not to mention it was my first REAL time driving in snow..a little different than the road conditions of Brisbane.

A 'Yellow' (77% chance) alert has been sent out for possible visible Auroras for the Edmonton region (and similar magnetic latitudes).

Aurora alert
Geomagnetic activity could result in Auroras as far south as the Edmonton region (and similar magnetic latitudes) tonight.
