The Conductor...

ISO 12800 - only using awful available light...

I think the light is what really makes this shot special. Nice job.

He looks like he's waiting to get something to eat after his pose.... Like a doggy treat? Hope you fed him for his modeling work?

I was going to say this same thing.

I had flourescents, stage lights and all sorts going on, it was quite a rescue job on most of the shots from this job. :-)

I'd say it was worth it. Great light and color.

My wife thought it would be a good idea for me to actually lay down under the jump and shoot the horse going over the top, but I've seen too many stumbles over the rails to give it up for my art quite that much. I think she just wants to cash in the life insurance policy. Plus, I didn't think a picture of the horse's belly would be that compelling anyway. Still managed to get very, very close with the 16-35.

Later last night, we shot the family Christmas card cover:

Great shots! I'm with you on not placing myself right beneath the horse. Maybe it's time to name a different beneficiary, just in case...? Don't know if I've said it before, but beautiful dogs. It looks like someone spends a lot of time brushing them.

Nice shots, but this one's my favorite. Not only for the cast, but the light -- I love the dark sky with the sunlit foreground that makes that grass pop.
