B&H has Maxell 16gb 400x for $19.99. I have 2 along with SanDisks, Lexar Pro, Transcend and a Kingston and I can't tell the difference among them.

Transcend 32gb 400x has been going on sale lately at B&H for $39.99 but B7H is currently showing out of stock.

.

+1 on this deal. Been using this for month and half and haven't notice much difference. USB 3.0 reader card is super fast when downloading as well.

Just a caution.. the write speed specified on this card is only about 150x, not 400x. The 400x applies only to read, which is useful only when transferring images to computer. However, if you dont need super fast, sustained, raw bursts this should be good enough.

Dang it! I should have jumped when I first saw this deal a couple weeks ago. Instead I sent the link to my daughter when she asked for Christmas gift suggestions for me.

That's one of the best deals out there.

I've been using Transcend cards (CF and SDHC) for the past 3-4 years, and they've been the great. I can't tell a difference between them, Lexar, or Sandisk. I bought them from Amazon while on sale.

I'm a little annoyed at B&H for doing this...but, 16GB CompactFlash Memory Card Extreme Pro 600x UDMA are on sale...with an instant rebate.

The reason I'm pi$$ed at B&H is because the other day, the cards were being sold for $75 with no instant savings. Today, they have been marked up to $78.50 and then the instant savings is applied, to bring the price to $73.86. I dislike practices like this, but, I guess everyone is in business to make money. :eyes

There are two reasons things like this happen, for sure in the Canon world, but they probably apply to memory card manufacturers like Sandisk.

  1. Manufacturers require retailers (like B&H) to sell at no less than a certain minimum advertised price to participate in an instant savings. Canon does this all the time with their lens "instant rebates".

  2. Retailers aren't reimbursed 100% for the instant savings. If Canon offers a $100 instant savings on a lens, the $100 isn't all coming from Canon; Canon may only reimburse the store 80% ($80) and expect the remainder of the discount to be eaten by the store. Which pushes the store to raise their prices to maintain the same profit margin as before the savings.

For those who've signed up for Newegg's (external link) newsletter you can now pick up the Transcend 32GB 400X CompactFlash Card for $43 with coupon code "EMCJHND27".

Granted, not as good as B&H, but it doesn't show as out of stock yet.

Profits always win, at the end of the day. I'll most likely get two of them, as I don't feel they'll get much cheaper than that...but, the holidays are getting closer. So, we'll see. ;)

Thanks all for your replies. Speaking of it, would it be better to have two 16gb card or just one 32 gb card?

^^Unsure. Some don't like to put all their eggs in one basket, while others don't mind larger cards. Myself, I just wanted some faster CF cards for the 1Dx...so, I ordered a pair of Lexars as linked below despite the fact that I've mostly used Sandisk cards.

I'm not a sports shooter, so, the 32GB ones didn't make sense right now...maybe they will in the future should I ever get heavily involved in video. But, I've never had a dslr with video before, so, I'm gathering it'll take a while to get to that point. ;)

If time swapping cards is an issue than go with the 32GB. I'd hate to lose 16+ GB of images
