I was considering the Pixel Vertax BG until B&H released the Vello (recently). I'm only waiting for some reviews on Vello's before I make my decision since there are only 4 reviews on B&H. At least they dropped the price ~$20 this week, At least I waited since last week.

Reference- (http://www.bhphotovideo.com …o_BG_C9_Battery_Grip.html (external link))

It looks good in the pictures but thats basically all I can conclude.

Purchase it and if you don't like it, return it. B&H's return policy is pretty good. You can be the first to review it.

Definitely. I really want to see the interior construction looks like in the Vello. I definitely would prefer to have it sturdy if I happen to mount the camera on a tripod.

I am also considering to order an extra LC-E6 w/ the BG since I've always used a single charger for my battery grips but its not very convenient having one. :)

I'll think about it for now unless someone shows up in the thread that gives me a big reason not to order it. It seems that Pixel Vertax has raised their prices on amazon.

Look into sterlingtek for extra batteries and chargers. I think I'll get this grip.

I have an extra LP-E6 (OEM); but I have just read about 3rd party chargers and people just stick with OEM Canon chargers.

I found out that while I was looking for a dual battery charger and it seemed better to buy an extra LC-E6. :)

Its up to you. I use several sterlingtek batteries and have had great luck. I think right now they are something like $15 each?

I just ordered the grip - ill post some info when it comes in.

I may be wrong, but I believe I bought one of GGS's display protectors from one of your reviews. :) It would have been helpful if they included a top protector with it but I bought their other kit too just to get the top protector.

Yes, I reviewed the GGS protector. I also mentioned in my review that it didn't include the top and it would have been nice if they included it. How can you cover one but not the other? It doesn't cost them much either.

Exactly. I always used to put a thin/soft cover in my bag to avoid any loose items that could hit the camera. There wasn't much risk in the bag, but I'm always careful of my equipment.

Besides, It was only ~15 or less to buy both protector kits to cover both displays. Not bad for an expensive camera.

I just got mine today and really like it so far. It seems wider than the grip for the 5dII which may be a problem if you have small hands, but Im assuming it is around the same specs as the OEM grip.

I don't have giant hands but cameras feel too small without a grip. I've been using grips for years. :) Mine should be here on mon/tues. I'll see.

Could you post some pics of the 5D3 with the grip on? Thanks
