I shot this picture and immediately thought that it would look cool in my living room above my couch. I hate frames so I opted for 2x1 raw steel C channel bar for an industrial look (my house has steel rails with a ton of open space, 20 foot ceilings, loft, etc). The total mounting hardware and steel was less than $60. The prints are each 30"x40" printed on Fuji Crystal Archive paper and mounted to 3/16" reinforced foam core. The prints are attached to the steel bar with neodymium magnets for a floating design that can easily be swapped out if I ever want to. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! It's always 10x's better to see things in print than on screen. These suckers just glow under the track lighting.

the idea of going for magnets is very cool. Swap prints as you like, ...

Not sure if you know this but you could have combined the 3 photos into one and print it as one and very large. www.ezprints.com (external link)

I already have the pano combined into one file (something like 16000x4000) but I specifically wanted to split it into thirds, printed on the Fuji pearlescent paper, and have it mounted so I could magnet it to the rails. A long floppy unmounted print wouldn't have done me much good as I would have had to frame it or find some other way to mount it to the wall.

Very nice job.
I'm sure this shot doesn't do it justice seeing it in person.

I might have to borrow that bar and magnet idea. Great job!

Im sure the price of framing that guy would of been crazy too.

Good work.
It forces one into a longer viewing distance too.
I also do that in my gallery but with nails.
Might try magnets in future but more into the removable no damage tape idea.

That is a great idea. I really like your idea of avoiding the use of a frame and I also notice the other images you have mounted don't have frames either. Care to share the procedure on how those are mounted?
