My previous site was a template I chose from Blu Domain. I opted not to renew and am website-less. What are some alternatives to Blu Domain? Doesn't necessarily need to have flash but I do want a client proofing section.

Smugmug? Zenfolio?

I have Smugmug (4 years) and Showit (showitfast.com). We love Showit regardless of all the flash haters. We can build as many sites as we would like (we do for every client in just minutes) and put their images in slideshows. Showit is just perfect for us because....for example....when we started shooting boudoir, we build a completely separate site for it. Quick, easy and actually fun to build. An hour later, we had a reputable boudoir site to point to. The possibilities are endless. Now I know that guys that know programming can do all this too, but I have no clue about it. So When a dummy like me can make a whole website in an hour, it's easy. Are there better? Sure...but we look professional enough and we get comments on a regular basis about our sites.

Smugmug is great also....but as I said, I don't know the code and had a hard time customizing. But there are guys here that have amazing SM sites and their customer service is tops.....along with Showit.

Just some food for thought and my recommendations.

How does pricing for ShowIt compare to Blu? I don't know code either...will definitely need a template type of site.

It's like $39/month or $400 a year I believe. We paid for a year and I believe it was discounted over the monthly rate. What I liked about it, you not buying one site/template....you can design your site using any of the templates and change it every day if you want. Each additional site you can create with the same theme as your home site or with a completely different look.

I believe you can go to the site and try it free. That may help.

I'm looking for a new way to manage 3 to 4 different aspects of my business. I'm struggling to keep it simple. cbknight, would you share your website links so I can see how you manage different types of shooting with Show-It? Thx
