You may be right - I assumed a meteor as I was there to shoot the shower. I was the only one there and facing the camera so not sure of its speed etc. It was cool to see as I sorted through the pics though. Proudly Australian Made!!

I changed the ISO from 3200 to 1600, to reduce some of the ambient light, and that killed any further captures. I didn't realize it until I looked this morning. Oh well, a learning experience. ![]() Geminid ![]() ![]() StillCrazy - after all these years.

Never did night stuff before and that pesky infinity on the 17-40…I figured you twisted focus ring to the extreme…not so, evidently. Anyways, here is one of my better crappy ones. I figured out focus a little later, but clouds rolled in. ![]() best crappy meteor shot -1 - December 13, 2012 ![]() ![]() A guy with a couple cameras, some lenses, and accoutrements

It was far from clear though. Clouds kept rolling through the whole time. There were breaks every now and then that were lucky enough to coincide with a meteor or two.

Can you gurus PLEASE tell me what the best settings/method for capturing meteor showers is!!! All I know is find a dark place and bring a tripod ![]() When it comes to the cosmos, I have no clue about F-Stop, timing, filters, focus, etc! My gear is in my signature, and I am usually armed with the 5D2/24-70 .... is that ok? What should I take instead, or additionally? Thanks in advance, and happy shooting to all!!! Regards ..
