I haven't heard anyone talk about it so I figured it was not as good as the last one was it back in Nov? I had to be to work at 2 Am so unable to go but given what I've seen here I did not miss out on much?

I took a stab at some meteors. Never did night stuff before and that pesky infinity on the 17-40…I figured you twisted focus ring to the extreme…not so, evidently. Anyways, here is one of my better crappy ones. I figured out focus a little later, but clouds rolled in.

I did 30 second f/8 at 17mm and iso 400 every one minute. I am going to play around some more with night photography. It's pretty cool! I liked watching the stars and clouds move as i went through my pics...

Took couple dozen last night, it was really cold and windy and i wasn't prepared.....brrrrrr..... -15 Deg C. this is my best (only) meteor shot... it was an amazing show though we just sat in the car (with the heat on) and admired the show for an hour, I figure I saw between 50-70....

At 33 this was my first ever meteor show...I was very excited!

Well, poop. I have some more with shorter streaks in the sky. That was the best, if I remember right. What a beautiful long streak of a not a meteor. :)

According to the rules....Image must fit in 1024 pixels by 1024 pixels box.

When I export, I put limit image to 1000 on the long edge. That gets me in the limits. How are you resizing your images? Also, if you upload to Flickr, you can pick the share size to paste in here.

I use photobucket but think I can do the same thing there. Most times I use Photoshop to work with my pic's. I also shoot large format unless I'm using the Canon Digital Pro software then I'll shoot RAW.

I didn't see a single one last night. LP All my neighbors think they need to light up the night.
Did get this though.

I got a few last night. My two favorites:

1. Canon t2i, kit lens, 15 second exposure, 18mm at f/4, ISO3200. Airplane (dotted line) in upper left, meteor just below it to the right, satellite in bottom right:

IMAGE: http://i512.photobucket.com/albums/t322/BogiePutt/Meteor12142012163_zps71f3abde.jpg

2. 50mm 1.8II lens, 5 seconds, f/1.8, ISO3200. Very little crop except to a 5:4 ratio:

This was the only meteor I was able to capture. I saw probably close to 50 shooting stars, but only 1 was in frame while I was shooting apparently. It was very cloudy where I was as you can see from my video. It had a 20 second exposure, and unfortunately, it went right through a cloud... I also put together a time lapse of the night, and this shot makes an appearance VERY briefly:

This is from about 350 photos, taken at 6 seconds each. Captured a few goodies in there...

aparis99, your shutter had to be open a lot longer than 6 sec. for star trails like that.
Or are you using image stacking ?
