I didn't used to, but just refreshed nearly all my gear and keeping them this time. They are easy to store and help with eventual resale, not only for the value increase, but for safe shipping.

I don't want to be a packrat, but I always wonder whether it adds to the ability to sell a piece of equipment, if you still have the original box to send to the buyer. Any thoughts?

no..unless the lens is still under warrenty..otherwise toss the box.

I keep all the boxes and the contents (papers, CDs, whatever else) for resale. Got a shelf in a closet that is all empty boxes from camera equipment and electronics.

neatly packed away in a big box from Amazon - all the boxes that came with my camera, TV, electronic goods etc all documentation, receipts etc - helps in resale but also helps when you move (i have a job that makes me move so helps during moving as well).

99% of everything I have ever sold people asked if I had the box. It seems to make it easier to sell equipment.

Boxes of boxes in my garage. When I was moving a few years ago, I had a box of camera boxes stolen from my moving truck. Sucked to lose em, but I felt some sweet satisfaction at the reaction those a-holes must have had when they opened them up.

Nice!

Count me in the "collect boxes for resale value" category.

I keep all mine for sure. Everything my lens came with. Stays in a cool dark place (top of a closet inside) for me...

I save them and I believe it adds to the perceived value of the lens.

I'm suprised you did not get "box does not take pictures" posts yet; but, yes, I keep the boxes and it helps when selling

I find that a lens and a camera work MUCH better when out of the box. If I expect to resell an item in the future, I keep the box.
