Im thinking about converting an older international carry on roller suitcase which has been retired from travel to a mass storage bag for my camera gear. Hence looking at getting some camera inserts to pad the gear going into it.

I see that F-stop do some, but they are perennially out of stock, and there are always tons of cheapo unknown ones on eBay that you can barely even get dimensions for. But does anyone have some recommendations of other ones?

In the mix i am also after one to put into my existing 40L hiking pack for doing day walks. Any suggestions on Camera Inserts for both scenarios?

Tenba makes a very nice insert for messenger bags but I have used it in a regular backpack with no issues. If you are just looking to pad your gear, look at their messenger wraps instead- fantastic products for a good price.

Dakine used to have the camera blocks you could buy separately from the backpacks but it doesn't look like they do that anymore. I'd check ebay for them, at the moment there is one for sale here but the seller is only shipping within the states.

Good luck.

You mean the Upload? They still make those, but its an awkward sort of size for what im after.

Ill have a look at the Tenba ones. But basically im looking at enough inserts to make something like this:

You used to be able to buy the Sequence/Mission camera block separately(which is bigger than the Uploads).

Best of luck sorting it out.

Ah yeah. That sort of size would be better.

I'll keep looking around I guess

Look for Pelican or Calumet cases to find a set of inserts that will work for you by matching sizes.
